My Laptop issues resolved!!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to say that hopefully all my laptop issues should be resolved now, so expect to some lots more post from me :)

Yeti!!!!!

Meet this cute lil fellow.

He was an order from a friend. He is going to be a baby shower present!!

This was my 2nd time trying my own yeti pattern. The first attempt was Henry.

I need to work on my pattern and fix a few things, but overall I am very happy how he turned out.

Plushies anonymous

My name is Amber, I am 21 and I am addicted to plushies.

I do not know what it is or why I like them, maybe because they are stuff and fluffy and they are always happy to be hugged.
Or maybe because they do not talk back.

I know it might sound weird, but I see inspiration for plushies everywhere I look :)

I was watching Game of Thrones the other night and I thought Hmmmm..... I would love to make the wolves from Game of Thrones (wolves are one of my favourite animals)

Then I found myself ordering faux fur for it the other night.

Sigh... my house is covered with lovely plushies..

The reason why I will never get employee of the month

I think my boss comes into work, looks over at my desks and shakes her head. Thinking to herself "What am I going to do with that girl?" As she leaves work and my desk is neat and tidy and when she comes in the next morning it is covered in zombified things, as I get quite bored sometimes.

At the moment I have a yeti on my desk, holding a flag stating "No one believes in me"

(If anyone knows how to rotate it let me know!!)

I think she will come in and I will have an arm of characters :)

Maybe when I grow up a bit more I might win

Doll customising.

I really love all the ball jointed dolls, but honestly do not know if I am able to justify spending $300+ on one. I was thinking about buying a photo2nd porcelain doll and customising it like I see done online.

The only issue is I have a slight fear off porcelain dolls . I am worried, I do not know why, that if I customise a doll that it will haunt me. I have irrational fears. I already know.

You may see some dolls in the future.

Trying to make a logo

So for a while now I have known I need to make a logo use. I really wanted something that represents me and my creations. I am still struggling a little bit.

I drew up this character today she is kind of based on Wednesday Adam's but still based on me. I need to redraw her shoes, as I want her to have a pair of chucks on. I also want to have a yeti involved or octopi or the white rabbit to represent my love of Alice in Wonderland.  I am unsure at this point in time.

I am also thinking of maybe a cartoon of Hunter.

International snack swap

I participated in the international snack swap on Crafster.

Both of my partners have received, so I thought I would share.

I had 2 partners.

My first one was Gingerpeachy. She is a vegetarian which was a great experience, as I now read the back of every label and try to have re4 meals a week meat free.

Her box was 5kg's. The majority of it was tea :) I am not the only tea drinker. I also included some vegemite, a few other Susie food items.

I made a wattle & Wallace grass terrarium (she had plenty of terrariums on her Pinterest. Sadly it did not make it.

My second partner was Loudxmouse. She had recently lost some weight (congratulations) and was after a mixture of healthy snacks

I included timtams, vegemite, cheesymite, marmite, Morona coffee (I read somewhere that the US does not have it) violet crumble plus more.

I made her 2 pairs if Native Australian butterfly earrings (they took me 3 attempts, lol)

Cthulhu eyes

I had a request to make a custom cthulhu. This person keeps me sane while I am at work the majority of the time. I wanted it to be green, but his favourite colour is purple. So I wanted to incorporate purple as well. (I won't go into all of the details. I know he does not read my blog, but you never know he may.)

My eyes started of similar to this (same shape & size) but an awful green colour. I really love the yellow but it clashed too much with the green.

I got into the green with a pair of scissors and scratched it off.

I then mixed 2 parts of baby pink acrylic paint with one part aqua and a dash of crimson to get a nice purple colour.

I used that as my base.

I let it dry, then got a sewing pin and scratched off lines of paint with & painted over the purple with an acrylic gold paint.

I left it dry overnight, then used my sewing pin again & scratched off random bits of paint at the back and painted over with acrylic paint. This time 2 parts viridian (dark ocean green colour)with one part appliance white.

I let it dry, then put a sealant over the lot.

I am so happy how it turned out, considering it was my first attempt :)

I don't think the photos do it justice.

I will post full pictures once the cthulhu is received.

Sydney!!

I got the chance to go to Sydney on Thursday and Friday last week with work.

I was soo lucky to get the chance, as it was something that I was very passionate about and I really believe in.

I brought Henry Yeti along for the ride.

I did not invite Henry to the work conference though. I am sure everyone I work with thinks I am strange enough :)

Hunter & I

HI everyone,

Sorry I have been quiet and slack lately. I have been having bad computer and Internet issues. Sometimes my laptop monitoring does not even work *sigh*

Looks like I need to find a new laptop.

I thought I would share some photos of Hunter and I that we had taken of us. they are not very good. But Hunter is so cute, he makes any picture cute :)

IN the one above, Hunter licked my mouth, that is why I have such a disgusted look on my face :)

Baby yeti

Well Queensland and Northern New South Wales has had some wild weather with cyclone Oswald  and the flooding. Other than aviary  and shed damage we got out unscathed. I went into work after the wet weekend and look who I found at my desk.

A baby yeti! I think he was just seeking shelter from the storm.

All I wanted to do was my desk

I am having one of those days. I bought this awesome new desk for my office. It has a spot for my scanner, sewing machine & laptop. I started putting it together before I went to work. I got to work, I was super excited to get home and complete. 6 minutes before my shift finished I had a customer. The rudest customer I have had all day. He had no details, nothing he kept putting me on hold. Snapping my head off. He made me miss my train now I won't get home until 12am. All I wanted was to put together my desk is that too much to ask for. It is days like these that I think I should leave my current job and go do something I would enjoy. Somewhere where I am more appreciated where it would not bother me if I got stuck at work 40 minutes later. I could just think, hey if I love what I am doing... Maybe I should quit my day job and do freelance/consultant work again. Where I choose my customers. I have to many bills so I will keep dreaming for now.

Random Sketches

Hi everyone,

At the moment I am in full swing making octopi to put in my etsy shop. I am waiting for fabrics for some of my customer orders octopi.

But I have been working on some sketches to make monsters out of!! So I can start a Creature adoption associations (CAA) like the RSPCA, or Capricorn Animal Aid, lol. At a handmade market.

I just do not have enough stock yet :)

Junker Jane swap!!

My partner Terri aka Lovesclutter recieved her package, so I can now post pictures.

Here is the doll, we named her Emily. She is sitting with Hamilton the Yeti. (Sorry I do not know how to rotate yet)

This is a close up of her eye. The black is zebra print where I just cut out the black section :) The sequins are a secret hidden mickey pattern. I love Disney things and I like to hide mickeys in my work :)

I have an obsession with Peter Pan collars, so this is one made out of pink lace and 2 buttons.

The back has a little bow that can be untied and retied :)

Junker Jane always signs her dolls, so I though I would. My username is Bambam91. So there is a BB91










She is purposely mismatched, as that is the Junker Jane style. I used Caramel coffee to stain her with Earl Grey tea. I leant that Green tea does not work well for staining :)

I hope you love her as much as I do :)

Here are the earrings I made as well :)

They are red munro flass beads, czech glass beads and silver dragonflys. It was my first time making earrings, they were based on ones that Lovesclutter had on her Wists. But they did not turn out properly. I liked how they turned out any way. I hope Terri does too :)
